Morris Habitat for Humanity Invites You to Make Volunteering Your New Year’s Resolution
When most people think of Morris Habitat for Humanity, they envision someone swinging a hammer at a construction site. While it’s true that Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to building decent, affordable housing with low-income families, and needs volunteers to help in the construction process, there are many nonconstruction activities in which mature volunteers excel. Morris Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, ages, races and religions to volunteer for these. Those interested can begin by attending a monthly hour-long Volunteer Orientation. Opportunities exist in the organization’s retail outlet, the ReStore, and in serving on one of the many committees that ensure Morris Habitat reaches its goal of helping 10 to 15 local families per year by providing affordable home ownership.
