Yoga Impact Teacher Training at Purple Om Yoga
Yoga Impact Institute, a non-profit organization that brings the benefits of yoga to marginalized populations, is offering two yoga teacher training courses at Purple Om Yoga in Denville. Yoga Impact Teacher Training is special because it focuses on a strong foundation to authentically connect with the needs of all levels of students. Volunteering through the many Yoga Impact programs is available for continued growth and deep fulfillment.
The 200-Hour initial training is led by the studio owner, Jennifer Kalawur. The training starts September 20 and will meet most Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through February. The first 77-hour portion of the training is being offered as an immersion, for yoga practitioners who want to go deeper into the history, philosophy and science of yoga, but may not be ready or interested in becoming a certified teacher.
The 300-Hour advanced training is led by the Yoga Impact director, Nancy Candea. This training begins October 13 and meets the second weekend of each month through June. This training is offered to certified yoga teachers with a minimum 100 hours of teaching experience. The advanced training goes deeper into the science, psychology and philosophy of yoga. Teachers will also be introduced to creating programs for specific populations including physical limitations, autoimmune diseases, anxiety and depression.
